Course Details - Sweet Pea Shuffle

Sweet Pea Shuffle is our new event for 2017 and is a more casual recreational activity compared to Howard's 25K Run or Paws on the Pavement 5K. This event is geared more towards pet lovers and pet owners that would like to involve their furry best friend in a healthy, outdoor activity that will benefit themselves and our local no-kill shelter!

The Sweet Pea Shuffle course is the oval/circular track that is located adjacent to the stage area at Canal Place. Complete as many laps as possible on the track with your pet between 4 and 7pm, August 19th. The special twist to the Sweet Pea Shuffle is YOU are not the event participant, your FURBABY is!

You may register your pet two different ways. You may pay a flat $10 registration fee to pre-register for the event using runsignup.com or printing out the 2017 registration form and mailing in your registration with payment. You may also print out the sponsorship form and collect $20 in sponsorships. You may mail-in your sponsorship form and collected money to Howard's Run Fest/SPS PO Box 5244, Cresaptown, MD 21505 or you may turn in your sponsorship sheet and money on event day. To qualify for prizes you must turn in at least $20 in sponsorships.

Rules: The event is from 4-7pm August 19th at the Canal Place stage area. The object for participants is to complete as many laps within the time period. You do not need to be present at the starting time to compete and may start any time after 4pm. However, lap counting will stop at 7pm. All participants must be leashed in and around the event area. All participants (pets) must be accompanied by a human guide. You may walk or run the track with your pet, but we ask that you be courteous and allow other pets and guides an appropriate amount of space to participate as well. Partial laps will only count in the event of a tie. Prizes will be awarded for top 3 in completed lap count and top 3 donations collected. You do not need to be present to receive your prize.
